How I Began Loom Knitting
It all began in November 2017. It was after Thanksgiving and a local craft shore had knitting looms for sale. I bought a set of long looms. I decided I was going to knit cat beds for the shelter I volunteered at. And for a while I did. But it quickly grew boring. I then transitioned to knitting scarves and hats.
At some point along the way, I bought a 12-peg loom, also known as a flower loom. I believe I had seen a video that used it to make knitted balls and I wanted to try it. I found these balls quick and easy to make.
I started searching the Internet for other cat toys to make. But I found that there didn’t seem to be any for the loom. So I started inventing my own. At first I had hoped to get enough items that I could teach a class so others could make toys for shelter cats.
But it ended up with having two dozen different toys to make with the 12-peg loom. And so I hope to eventually get my designs published into a book. The book would enable me to teach thousands of people how to make cat toys and raise money for cat rescues.
And that’s why I created this site. To start organizing my thoughts and teach others the fun of making cat toys.
Not to mention, that making cat toys raises you a level of cat lady (or lord) craziness.
